"Estación Buenavista" is the ancient main station near the
centre of
the city. Since the closure of the entire Mexican rail network in the mid
1980ies, grass and plants overgrow the railway lines behind a well-kept
and blocked off façade.
In the place where the railway lines leave the grounds we find a barrier
consisting of tapes, strings and wires knotted together.
It is here that we perform the reopening of the station by the singing of
a marching melody and the traditional cutting of the ribbon.
